Men's Cross Country
The Mariners opened up their 2017 season on Saturday at the UMaine Farmington Invitational, placing fourth as a team. Maine Maritime was led by a trio of new faces, as freshman Brandon Goud was the top finisher for the Mariners, grabbing ninth place overall on the 5K course. Freshmen Cole Brundige and Aylen Wolf finished 15th and 17th respectively, to round out the top three for the Mariners.
Maine Maritime returns to action this Saturday, September 9 at the University of New England Invitational in Biddeford. Last season at the race, the Mariners finished ninth as a team and were led by Zachary Kinsman who placed 28th overall, on the 8K course.
Women's Cross Country
The Mariners opened up their 2017 season on Saturday at the UMaine Farmington Invitational, placing sixth overall. Maine Maritime was led by Sierra James who placed 42nd out of 85 runners.
Maine Maritime returns to action this Saturday, September 9 at the University of New England Invitational in Biddeford. Last season at the race, the Mariners finished seventh as a team and were led by Jessica Faltings who placed 36th overall on the 5K course.
On Saturday in their season opener, Maine Maritime Academy football fell to SUNY Maritime 59-13. The Mariners will enter a bye week, before hosting Massachusetts Maritime on Saturday, September 16 to defend the Admiral's Cup as part of Homecoming Weekend.
Maine Maritime golf opens up their 2017 season on Tuesday at the John Queenan Memorial Golf Tournament at the Point Sebago Golf Resort, hosted by St. Joseph’s College. The event tees off at 8:00 am.
On Saturday, the Mariners travel to UMaine-Presque Isle to take on the Owls in a Dual Match. Tee time is scheduled for 10:00 am.
Men's soccer went 1-0 in their opening week, defeating the University of New England, 2-0, for the first time since 2011. The Mariners were led by seniors Ike Doiron and Tom Samson, who each net a goal in the victory.
The Mariners look to improve their 2017 record on Tuesday at Colby College. Historically, the Mariners are 0-11-1 against the Mules, including a 0-7 record when playing on the road.
Maine Maritime takes on SUNY Maritime for the first time in program history on Saturday, and will take on Sarah Lawrence on Sunday in Throggs Neck, N.Y., also for the first time ever.
The Mariners opened up their season with 5-0 win over Unity on Friday night, led by three goals from Makayla Lewis. The team fell on Saturday to Gordon, 4-1, as Lewis net the lone goal for the Mariners.
Maine Maritime hosts Bates College on Tuesday at 6:00 pm on Ritchie Field. Historically, the Mariners are 0-3 all-time against the Bobcats, including a 2-0 loss last season.
This weekend, the Mariners hit the road to take on Smith College on Saturday and Westfield State on Sunday.
This is the second meeting between Maine Maritime and Smith. In the first-ever matchup the teams tied 2-2 in Castine last September. In that game, both Makayla Lewis and Susana DeFrank tallied goals for the Mariners.
The Mariners will face Westfield State for the first time in program history.
The Mariners opened up their 2017 season going 1-2 against a trio of tough non-conference opponents. On Friday, the Mariners picked up a thrilling 3-2 victory over the University of New England, Maine Maritime’s first win over the Nor’easters since 2009. On Saturday, the Mariners fell 3-1 in a tightly contested match to Southern Maine, and 3-2 to Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. The Mariners were led by sophomore Alexa Cacacie and freshman Jessica D'Auria who led the team in double-digit kills in each match, sophomore Sydney Adams who recorded double-digit assists in each match and sophomore Maria Perez who tallied double-digit digs in each match.
Maine Maritime travels to take on NESCAC’s Colby College on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm, before hitting the road to Rhode Island for the Johnson and Wales Invitational where the team will take on Bridgewater State and the host Johnson and Wales on Friday and Gordon College and Wesleyan on Saturday.
The Mariners are 2-12 all-time against Colby, including a 0-10 record when playing at Colby. Last season the Mariners split the season series 1-1, picking up a 3-1 victory over the Mules on Senior Day.
Friday’s matchup will be the first-ever meeting Bridgewater State and Maine Maritime Academy. Historically, the Mariners are 0-1 all-time against Johnson & Wales, falling 3-0 in the only meeting between the two teams in 2009.
The Mariners are 3-3 all-time against Gordon, in all neutral site matches. The Mariners fell to the Fighting Scots 3-2 in their last meeting in 2014.
Saturday’s match will be the first-ever meeting between Maine Maritime and Wesleyan.
