Lyndon Uses Second Half Surge To Get By Mariners

 

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Antonio Mena scored 15 points and grabbed 17 rebounds off the bench Friday to lead Lyndon to a 73-63 North Atlantic Conference victory over Maine Maritime Academy.

 

Ben Sackett tossed in 16 points for the Hornets, including a 4-for-7 effort from beyond the three-point arc. O'Bee Byrd chipped in 10 points and nine rebounds for the winners and Jason Gray added nine rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals. Jose Fortunato handed out a game-high seven assists in the contest.

 

Shawn Dostie had 16 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks for the Mariners, and Paul Campbell collected 13 points and a team-high three assists. Dom Drake had 11 points and four steals in the loss.

 

With the win, Lyndon ups its record to 7-12 overall and 6-2 in the NAC. The loss drops Maine Maritime to 8-10 overall and 3-5 in league play.
