Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball outscored Framingham State 41-24 in the second half to claim a 57-53 victory in the second game of the Williams Invitational.
The Mariners entered halftime facing a 29-16 deficit, but battled back, shooting 57.7 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes of play, led by 11 points from Nick Judge.

The Mariners' 42-point margin of victory is the team's largest since December 2, 2008 when the Mariners defeated Unity College, 109-26.
Tyler Thayer tallied a career-high 31 points, on 10-of-10 shooting from the floor, to lead Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball to a 93-78 victory over Green Mountain in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action inside of Smith Gymnasium.
To go with his 31 points, Thayer added six assists, five rebounds, and a steal. Thayer surpassed 1,000 career points in the first half on a three-point basket at 13:08 and currently has 1,027 points over 69 games. Thayer becomes the 11th player in Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball history to reach this mark, the fourth fastest player to achieve this milestone and the third player to do so in his junior season. Also in the game, Thayer tied the single-game record for field goal percentage (100%).
The win was the first Mariners' victory over the Eagles since January 7, 2012.
On November 15, Brendan Newcomb shot 66.7 percent from beyond the arc against Saint Joseph's College to rank sixth all-time in a single game, later in the year Newcomb shot 62.5 percent from beyond the arc to rank eighth all-time, tying teammate Nicholas DePatsy who tallied 62.5 percent shooting behind the arc twice during the season.
On December 10, Sam Meklin recorded six blocked shots against Colby-Sawyer, ranking him third all-time in a single game.
On January 21 at Castleton, Brendan Newcomb made eight three-point baskets, tying the program's single-game record. Also in the game, Newcomb attempted 15 three-pointers, ranking third-all time in three-pointers attempted.
On February 11 against Green Mountain College, Tyler Thayer went a perfect 10-for-10 from the floor to tie for first all-time, shooting 100%.
At Williams on November 19, the Mariners shot 93.8 percent from the line as a team to rank sixth all-time in program history. On February 18, the Mariners shot 93.3 percent from the line against Thomas College, to rank seventh all-time.
As a team the Mariners tallied 14 made three-pointers on two occasions during the 2016-17 season, first at New England College on December 9 and again against SUNY Maritime on December 30, to rank third all-time in program history.
Also against the Pilgrims on December 9, the Mariners notched 56.0 percent from the three-point arc to rank fourth all-time in program history.
During the 2016-17 season, Brendan Newcomb made 78 three-pointers, ranking second all-time in program history, and attempted 213 three-pointers ranking fifth all-time.
Nicholas DePatsy tallied 66 three-pointers to rank sixth all-time and attempted 175 three-pointers to rank ninth all time in that category.
Tyler Thayer tallied 98 assists during the 2016-17 season, ranking sixth all-time and ranked fifth all-time in assists per game (4.5).
Sam Meklin tallied 25 blocked shots over the course of the season, ranking 10th all-time in the category and averaged 1.2 blocked shots per game to rank 10th all time in that category.
As a team, the Mariners scored 1,719 points, ranking fifth all-time in program history and shot 42 percent from the floor, ranking 10th all-time. The team also tallied 207 three-pointers, and attempted 557 three-pointers to rank second all-time in program history in both those categories.
The team set a new program record by shooting 37.2 percent from beyond the arc, breaking the previous record of 34.2 in 1999-2000.
From the line the Mariners made 330 free throws, ranking seventh all-time in program history, making 71.9 percent of their shots from the charity stripe to rank third all-time.
The 2016-17 Mariners tallied 392 assists, to rank third all-time and ranked fourth all-time in assists per game (15.7).
The Mariners led the North Atlantic Conference in assists, averaging 17.5 assists per game. While Brendan Newcomb led the conference in three-point field goals attempted (213), three-point field goals made per game (3.12), and total three-point field goals made (78). Teammate Tyler Thayer led the conference in minutes per game (36:32).
