WATERVILLE, Maine -- Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country competed in the non-team scoring Colby Invitational on Friday afternoon.
John Brigante (Woodbine, Md.) led the Mariners in the 6k race, finishing the course with a time of 25:51.17 to place eighth. Cole Brundige (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) placed 11th, followed by teammate Zachary Kinsman (Lebanon, N.H.) and Aylen Wolf (Surry, Maine) in 12th and 13th.
Unity College's Chris Milne was the top finisher in the 6k race with a time of 23:17.10.
In the 3k race, Brundige led the way for the Mariners finishing fourth overall with a time of 10:34.16, and was followed closely by Kinsman in fifth, Wolf in sixth and Sam Sewall (York, Maine) in seventh.
Colby College placed the top three runners in the 3k race, led by Keith Barnatchez who finished the course in 10:08.69 to place first.
Maine Maritime returns to action at the State of Maine Championships hosted by Bowdoin College next Saturday, October 14.
