Lady Mariners rally to tie Johnson State
Castine, Maine – Maine Maritime got a second half goal from
Katie
Hutchinson (Dixfield, ME) to even the match which ended in a
1-1 tie with Johnson State College Saturday afternoon at Ritchie
Field. With the tie MMA improves to 2-2-1 in NAC play and 7-6-1
overall. Johnson State improved to 6-5-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the
NAC.
The
Badgers took a 1-0 lead with less than a minute left in the first
half when Ally Bataille (Waterbury, VT) connected on a pass from
Jacqueline Poutre (Underhill, VT) to give Johnson State to
lead.
The
Lady Mariners evened the score at 1-1 in the
60th minute when Hutchinson gathered a loose ball
25-yards out and lofted it over the Badger keeper for the score.
The goal was Hutchinson's fourth of the season.
Both
teams remained scoreless throughout two overtimes and the match
ended at 1-1.
Lacey Jackson
(York, PA) recorded the tie for MMA making 2 saves on 11 shots.
Morgan Solomon (Cavendish, VT) made 6 saves on 15 MMA shots in net
for the Badgers.
