Maine Maritime Places Sixth at Bridgewater State Invitational

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Maine Maritime Academy women's swimming placed sixth, with a team score of 39, at Saturday's Bridgewater State Invitational.

The relay team of Julie Cavanaugh (Mendon, Mass.), Charlette Bradley (Slidell, La.), Micaela Tanguay (Arundel, Maine), and Ashlyn Royal (Bucksport, Maine) finished sixth in the 200 Yard Medley Relay (2:24.69).

The relay team of Bradley, Cavanaugh, Tanguay and Alesha Gregoire (Lewiston, Maine) finished fifth in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay (4:53.27).

Tanguay led the Mariners in the 50 Yard Butterfly, finishing 16th (34.72). Tanguay also led the Mariners in the 100 Yard Backstroke, finishing 13th (1:24.32).

In the 50 Yard Backstroke, Tanguay finished 14th to lead the Mariners (39.88).

Gregoire led the Mariners in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a 16th place finish (3:07.63).

Bradley led the Mariners in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a 12th place finish (1:24.48) and in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a 24th place finish (29.43).

In the 50 Yard Breaststroke, Bradley finished 13th to lead Maine Maritime (37.64).

Cavanaugh led the Mariners in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a 21st place finish (1:07.55).

Bridgewater State placed first with a team score of 738, followed by the University of New England in second (525) and Western New England in third (270).
