WATERVILLE, Maine – Simmons College handed Maine Maritime a 3-1 setback in volleyball at the Colby Invitational. The Sharks won 25-18, 25-13, 24-26, 25-18 to improve to 3-3 on the season, while the Mariners fell to 1-2.

Melissa Lail (Elizabeth, Colo.) posted a dozen kills and four aces, while Jennifer Dixon (Woodstock, Md.) set up 25 kills and served up four aces of her own. Sydney Robertson (Barnstead, N.H.) recorded four solo blocks and 4 block assists in the match.

Maine Maritime returns to action tomorrow with a noon match against Gordon, followed by a match with host, Colby.
