Volleyball Sweeps Lyndon and Johnson State to Open NAC Play

JOHNSON, Vt. – Maine Maritime Academy volleyball picked up a pair of decisive 3-0 victories on Saturday against Lyndon State College and Johnson State College in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action.

Maine Maritime Academy 3 – Lyndon State College (25-4, 25-6, 25-10) 

Jessica D'Auria (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) led the Mariners with a match-high 13 kills, Sydney Adams (Trumbull, Conn.) led all players with 28 assists and Maria Perez (San Juan, Puerto Rico) added seven service aces.

Faith Richard led Lyndon (1-10, 1-2 NAC) with two kills, Alexis Walker led the team with two assists, and Zoe Pierce-Olhson added a team-best two digs.

Maine Maritime Academy 3 – Johnson State College (25-3, 25-4, 25-6)

Jessica D'Auria and Alexa Cacacie (Manahawkin, N.J.) led the Mariners with five kills each, while Sydney Adams led all players once again with 19 assists and Maria Perez added three digs. Hannah Butland (Cumberland, Maine) led the Mariners with seven service aces. 

Kimberly Reville led Johnson (0-11, 0-3 NAC) with two digs and an ace, and Elyssa Kornbrath tallied the lone kill for the Badgers.

With the wins, Maine Maritime improves to 12-7 overall and 2-0 in NAC play. The Mariners return to action next Saturday, October 7 at the University of New England for a pair of non-conference matches.
