Jessica D'Auria, a four-year member of the Maine Maritime volleyball team, has secured a position with the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Naples, Florida. D'Auria, a three-time North Atlantic Conference (NAC) All-Academic Team selection and the 2020-2021 NAC Volleyball Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year, will help monitor the sea turtle populations. D'Auria's role will help preserve threatened loggerhead, kemp's ridley, and Atlantic green sea turtle species. The Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve is managed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in partnership with the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, Florida International University and the National Estuarine Research Reserve Association.
