NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich Cadets and the Maine Maritime Academy Lady Mariners wrapped up a busy weekend of matches, as Norwich won 3-1 over Maine Maritime Academy in Andrews Hall on Sunday by set scores of 25-15, 25-16, 22-25, and 25-15.

Senior Molly Rice had a big day on the court, earning 24 assists and 11 digs. Classmate Thea Evans had 12 kills against the Mariners, as junior Ivana Batur followed up with 11 kills of her own. Senior Kiera Holmes kept the zone clear with 10 digs, receiving help from Jess Bielski who contributed eight.

The Lady Mariners, playing without standout Chelsea Ward, were led by freshman Melissa Lail (Elizabeth, CO). Lail collected 12 kills and added 12 digs. Jenn Dixon (Woodstock, MD) had a team high 28 assists while Lauren Sakahara (Bellevue, WA) collected 19 digs. Ariel Knights (Brookton, ME) had one of the best days of her young career, gathering eight kills in the loss.
