CONTOOCOOK, N.H.--Maine Maritime Academy wrapped up the 2024 season on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country East Region Championships hosted by Suffolk University on the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds.

The Mariners didn't field enough runners to score points as a team. But sophomore Sophie Sabet led the way with a 6-kilometer time of 30 minutes and 1.85 seconds for 195th place, followed by classmate Lillian Diversi (32:53.33) and juniors Kylie Cantlon (33:22.77), Lillian Verrill (36:20.25). Both Cantlon and Diversi ran faster than their times in the 2023 regional meet.

MIT edged Tufts for the team regional crown, 56-67, while Gordon College senior Rachel Brennan won the individual title in 21:43.31.
