Coach DeMuro, a Maine native, enters his sixth season as the men's and women's swimming & diving coach at Maine Maritime Academy in 2024-25.

In 2022-23, DeMuro-led teams went 4-2 in dual meets--including 3-0 on the men's side.

Despite the COVID-19 Pandemic impacting the 2020-21 season, DeMuro guided the Mariners to a 3-0 record in dual meets and a second-place finish in the first-ever NAC Virtual Swimming & Diving Invitational.

In his first year with the Mariners, DeMuro led the Mariners to a successful 2019-20 season, as the team placed sixth at the NEISDA Championships and went 6-1 in dual meets.

A 1999 graduate from University of Maine at Orono, DeMuro has served as the head swim coach at Mount Desert Island High School since 2000. While at MDI, he led the Trojans to a total of 11 state championships, five sportsmanship awards and has been named the Class B Coach of the Year six times.

DeMuro also served as the assistant YMCA swim coach since 2000, where he mentored kids from the ages of 5-18 and has been a physical education teacher at Cranberry Island School since 2017.

DeMuro also serves as the Academy's aquatics director in addition to his coaching duties.
