Maine Maritime Academy

Councell became the Head Maine Maritime Academy Sailing Coach after previously working with the program for a number of years; teaching PE Sailing courses and as assistant coach to the Varsity Sailing Team. Caroline has also spent several past seasons as Director, Head Instructor, and Coach at the Castine Yacht Club. She is a seventh generation Castine summer resident.  

Caroline has a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Boston University, where she was Captain of the Women’s Dinghy Sailing Team. She worked for both North Sails & Doyle Sailmakers. She brings an enthusiasm for the outdoors with her, including: hiking, climbing & bicycling, along with her life-long sailing experience, and she is a certified yoga instructor.
