Moore began his High School Wrestling Career at Lackawanna Trail High School in Factoryville, Pennsylvania. At Trail, he placed 5th and 3rd at PIAA States, before moving to Johnson City, NY where he posted a 32-0 senior record and captured a NYSPHSAA State Championship. He was also the NHSCA Senior National runner up at 285 Pounds and an NHSCA National Open Champion.
College: In the 2011-2012 Wrestling season at Niagara Country Community College, he posted a 44-5 record and was ranked as high as number 1 in the nation for the NJCAA. He finished the season as an All American by placing third at the NJCAA National Tournament in Rochester, Minnesota.
After Niagara, he attended SUNY Cortland where he finished with over 100 career collegiate victories. At Cortland, Moore was an NCAA Qualifier in 2014 and was ranked top 5 nationally for Division 3 at 285 lbs. He was also a four time medalist and placed third twice at the New York State Inter-Collegiate Tournament. This tournament consisted of Division 1 opponents such as Cornell, Army, Columbia, and Hofstra, as well as Division 3 and Junior College opponents. In addition to Wrestling, Moore was also named an NWCA Scholar All American in 2015 before graduating with a B.A. in Communications Studies.
Coaching Career: He began started Coaching in 2016 at the University of Scranton, where he spent three seasons as an assistant coach. In his first year as an assistant, he helped the Royals post a program record 15-4 dual meet record which was a program record for wins in a season. In 2018, he helped qualify Dan D’Agostini to the NCAA Tournament at 197 Pounds.
This was the first time that the University qualified a wrestler to the NCAA’S in over a decade.
In 2019, Moore became the Head Coach at Keystone College. At Keystone, Moore took a roster of two returning wrestlers and helped grow it to a full squad. In 2021-2022, he led Keystone to an NCAA program record 8 victories. He also led two wrestlers to the podium of the NCAA Mideast Regional, which was also a first in the program’s history. He also coached an NWCA Scholar All American during his time at Keystone.
After College and the end of his collegiate wrestling Career, Moore became involved in Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He began competing in Mixed Martial Arts in 2016 and he won the PA Cage Fight Heavyweight Championship later that year. Coach Moore has won numerous cash prize tournaments in the sports of Grappling and Jiu Jitsu as well, and he continues to compete in tournaments during the Wrestling off season.
