BRUNSWICK,
Maine - The Bowdoin College women's volleyball team wasted little
time in dismissing Maine Maritime on Senior Night Tuesday evening
at Morrell Gymnasium. The Polar Bears (16-8) celebrated with a
dominating 25-16, 25-16, 25-14 victory over the Mariners
(17-3).
Chalsea Ward (Homer, AK) led the Lady Mariners with 10 kills while
Heather
Moore (Macedon, NY) and Amy Young (Cumberland, ME) each added
3. Jenn Dixon (Woodstock, MD) had a season low 10 assists while Lauren
Sakahara (Bellevue, WA) collected 13 digs.
Senior
Gillian Page led the Polar Bears with 11 kills, seven service aces
and 15 digs in the win. Classmates Jenna Diggs (eight assists, four
digs) and Kelsey Howe (one kill) have earned 70 wins over the past
four years - the second-best mark by a class in program history -
and own the best winning percentage of any senior class in team
history.
Other
contributors included Kristin Hanczor, who posted eight kills and
Stephanie Bond, who collected 18 assists in the victory.
