Volleyball ends regular season with 20 wins

Castine, Maine - The Lady Mariner Volleyball team hosted The Thomas College Terriers for a conference match-up Thursday evening at Margaret Smith Gymnasium. MMA won the match 3-0 behind the trio of Chelsea Ward (Homer, AK), Amy Young (Cumberland, ME), and Kayley Rodriguez (Quincy, IL).

With the win the Lady Mariners reached the 20 win mark in the regular season for the first time in the programs history. The Lady Mariners also finished a perfect 7-0 in conference play and never dropped a game.

The Lady Mariners beat the Terriers by the score of 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, and 25-7). Sophomore middle hitter Chelsea Ward had another outstanding night for MMA collecting 11 kills and 5 aces. Jenn Dixon orchestrated the offense once again with 26 assists while Amy Young and Kayley Rodriguez each contributed 9 kills as MMA cruised to victory.

Sarah Marckoon (Lamoine, ME) paced Thomas with 9 kills. 

The win improved MMA's record to 20-5 on the year and 7-0 in the NAC while the Terriers drop to 7-17 on the season and 1-6 in the NAC.
