Lady Mariners Cruise to Victory Over Lyndon State 73-51

Castine, Maine --- The Maine Maritime Women's Basketball team cruised past Lyndon State 73-51 in a North Atlantic Conference game Friday night at Margaret Smith Chase Gymnasium. The Lady Mariners got scoring from 15 different players en route to their fourth NAC win of the year.

The Lady Mariners extended a 17-point lead at the half by outscoring the Hornets by five in the second half en route to the 22-point victory.

The Lady Mariners shot 38% from the floor and dished out 23 assists on 27 field goals while out rebounding the visitors 63-34. MMA improves to 9-8 overall and moves to 4-2 in the NAC while the Hornets slip to 7-8 overall and 2-4 in the NAC.

Jess Stahl (Bowdoin, ME) led the Lady Mariners with 16 points while collecting four rebounds and three assists. Sam Goda (Eliot, ME) had a great performance scoring 13 points, dishing off three assists and snatching11 rebounds for her 7th double-double of the year. Casey McCloskey (Howland, ME) had a career high seven assists in the win. The Lady Mariners showed a combined team effort receiving points from 15 different players.

Naomi White (Danville, CT) led the Hornets with 18 points, 3 steals, and grabbed a team high 8 rebounds while Abby Fadden (North Haverhill, NH) scored15 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Donna Lawson (Irasburg, VT) scored 10 points, snatched 4 rebounds and had two blocks despite being in foul trouble for a good portion of the game.
