Lady Mariners Lose At UMF 3-0

FARMINGTON, Maine -- Katie Cray (Richmond, Maine) scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer team to a 3-0 North Atlantic Conference win over Maine Maritime Academy today at Prescott Field.



The Beavers finished their regular season at 9-7-1 (6-1 NAC) and earned the second seed in the NAC tournament. Farmington is scheduled to host the winner of Husson University/Thomas College on Oct. 30 in semifinal action. The Mariners ended their season at 4-9-2 (1-5-1).



Cray scored off a Kayla Tuttle (Waterville, Maine) feed at 17:07 and followed off a pass by Rachel Clement (Gray, Maine), set up by a throughball from Leigh Ronald (Farmington, Maine) at 28:57 for the 2-0 lead for the Beavers.



Tuttle pushed the advantage to 3-0 at 32:09 off a lead by Cray.



The Mariners, playing with only 10 due to disciplinary action, only forced Farmington keeper McKell Barnes (Durham, Maine) to make one save in the contest as the Beavers grabbed the 3-0 win. Farmington held a 33-4 shot advantage in contest.



Lacey Jackson (York, Pa.) made 15 saves for Maine Maritime.
