Mariners Win In Overtime at UMPI 76-72

Presque Isle, ME - The Mariners from Maine Maritime Academy improved to 4-5 on the season with a 76-72 overtime victory against UMaine Presque Isle in a non-conference match-up on Saturday afternoon.

 

Freshman point guard Dom Drake (Brewer, ME) led the Mariners with 19 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 6 steals in the win while sophomore Andy Ball (Hermon, ME) had a career high 19 points.

 

Three Mariner starters fouled out in the game but the team still managed to outscore the Owls 12-8 in overtime to secure the win.Ben Russell (Farmington, ME) and Shawn Dostie (Bowdoinham, ME) each chipped in with 10 points each while Dostie collected a team high 11 rebounds.

 

The Owls were led by Clifford McDonald's game high 24 points and 12 rebounds. Patrick Manifold played well in the loss, scoring 18 points while grabbing 12 rebounds. Kyle Corrigan had team high's in assists and steals with 7 and 5 respectively.

 

The Mariners are off until January 11th when they take on UMaine Augusta.
