Castine, Maine --- Senior forward Rui Carmo (Cape Coral, FL) scored 26 points and grabbed 16 rebounds propelling Green Mountain College to a 62-57 victory over Maine Maritime Academy in a North Atlantic Conference match up. With the win the Eagles secured the #5 spot in the upcoming playoffs while the Mariners season comes to a close.

Green Mountain led 37-27 at the half and held off a late rally by MMA to hang on for the five-point victory. The Eagles out rebounded MMA 53 to 38 in large part due to Gerard Johnson's (Binghamton, NY) 22 rebounds in the contest.

Carmo led the Eagles with a game high 26 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the floor and went 7-for-10 from the free throw line. Gerald Kimbrough (Harlem, NY) chipped in with 13 points and 6 rebounds while Johnson snatched 22 boards with 18 of them coming on the defensive glass.

Seniors Jarred Sternbergh (Jonesboro, ME) and Joe MulCahy (Plainville, MA) played in their last game in a Mariner uniform and finished with 16 and 4 points respectively. Sternbergh finished the game with a team high 15 rebounds while freshman Ben Russell (Farmington, ME) chipped in with 9 points.
