Terriers Run Past MMA For Important NAC Win

Castine, ME - The Thomas College Terriers defeated the Mariners from Maine Maritime 85-63 in a North Atlantic Conference match-up Tuesday night at Margaret Chase Smith Gymnasium. Paul Campbell (Camden, ME) led all scorers with 22 points in the loss.

 

With the win Thomas improves to 13-10 overall and 9-4 in conference while the Mariners fall to 9-14 and 4-9 in conference play.

 

Thomas jumped out to a 52-30 half-time lead behind the shooting of Franklin Salvador (Somerville, MA) and Andrew Duncanson (Portland, ME). Salvador had 16 points at the break including four threes while Duncanson chipped in with 10 first half points. The Mariners struggled from the field, shooting 28% while the Terriers ended the half with 42% shooting and seven threes.

 

The Mariners found their stride in the second half, outscoring the visitors 35-31 but it wasn't enough as the Terriers recorded the 18 point win.

 

Paul Campbell led the home team with 22 points while Dom Drake (Brewer, ME) chipped in with 16 points, eight rebounds, and a game high five assists. Shawn Dostie (Bowdoinham, ME) collected a game high 14 rebounds in the loss.

 

Andrew Duncanson led four Terrier's in double figures with 20 points, while Jarrad DeVaughn (Brockton, MA) collected 14 of his 17 points in the second half. Franklin Salvador and Isiah Brathwaite (Farmington, ME) each reached double figures with 16 and 11 points respectively.
