Box Score CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime punched its ticket to its eighth-straight North Atlantic Conference semifinal appearance with a 3-1 win over Maine-Farmington in Saturday's quarterfinal. The Mariners won 25-18, 28-26, 24-26 and 25-21 to reach Friday's semifinal opposite Husson at Colby-Sawyer.
Ariel Knights (Brookton, Maine) had four kills in the first set to help get the Mariners a 1-0 lead. Trailing 26-25 in set two, MMA received three-straight kills by
Sydney Robertson (Barnstead, N.H), Chantal Adderly (Nassau, Bahamas) and
Betsy Trenckmann (La Veta, Colo.) to go ahead 2-0.
Nicole Osborne's kill in set three punctuated the Beaver's 26-24 win in set three before consecutive kills from Knights, in set four, sealed the win for the Mariners.
Knights finished with a meet-high 16 kills for MMA while
Jess Menges (6 aces),
Jennifer Dixon (40 assists) also picked up meet highs for the Mariners while
Samantha Tumolo had a team-high 17 digs. Osborne led Maine-Farmington with 10 kills, Whitney Walls picked up 16 assists and Jennifer Tupper had a meet-high 19 digs.
