WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby's Maggie Taylor (Washington, D.C.) had six kills, 14 defensive digs, four service aces, and two blocks in her final home match at Wadsworth to lead her team to a 3-0 win over Maine Maritime Tuesday night.
Sydney Robertson (Barnstead, N.H.) led Maine Maritime (12-11) with seven kills and three blocks. Ariel Knights (Brookton, Maine) added five kills, while setter Jennifer Dixon (Woodstock, Md.) had four aces and two kills.
Emily Varni (Manhattan Beach, Calif.), Colby's other senior co-captain, added 10 digs and three aces in the 25-13, 25-12, 25-16 win. Kim Donaldson (Colorado Springs, Colo.) led the way in kills for the Mules with seven, while Kate Pleasants (Virginia Beach, Va.) had 22 assists. Natalie Roy (Los Altos, Calif.) had five kills in the only set she played, Megan Michie (Rhinebeck, N.Y.) contributed four kills and two aces, Lily Kramlich-Taylor (Sacramento, Calif.) also had four kills, and Bayley McMillan (San Francisco, Calif.) had three kills.
Taylor, a senior co-captain, helped the Mules improve to 13-12 overall heading into Friday's 5 p.m. NESCAC quarterfinal match at Connecticut College.
The Mariners will take on Husson University in a NAC Tournament semifinal match Friday at 8 p.m. at Colby-Sawyer College.
