PRESQUE ISLE, Maine -- Southern Maine picked up double figures from four players in a 70-47 win over Maine Maritime Academy in the Star City Classic Saturday. SM improved to 1-0 while the Mariners fell to 0-2.

Alex Kee (14 points), Conor Sullivan (13), Mike Poullin (10) and James Odneal (10) all reached double digits for SM and Paul Campbell was the lone MMA player in double figures with 10 points.

SM started the games with a 6-0 lead before a free throw from Shawn Silva, a jay by Campbell and a trey from Nick Holt evened the game. The Mariners took their first lead at 13:11, 10-9, on a Tyler Chiasson jumper. Chiasson's score started an 11-2 scoring run by MMA that was bookended by Logan Poirier's free throw at 10:06 to give the Mariners a 19-11 lead.

Southern Maine battled back before MacDonald's free throw with 3 minutes in the first gave MMA a 27-27 lead. SM scored four straight to end the half ahead 30-27.

Southern Maine blew the game open with a 19-8 scoring run to open the second half and never looked back.

The Mariners return action Nov. 27 hosting Maine-Augusta at 7 p.m.
