Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. -- Colby-Sawyer won its second straight North Atlantic Conference women's volleyball championship with a 3-0 win over Maine Maritime Saturday. The Chargers improved to 18-13 and earned a trip to the NCAA tournament while MMA finished its season at 13-12.
Colby-Sawyer, which won 25-13, 25-11 and 25-20, was led by conference player of the year and NAC tournament MVP Jackie Keating (Marshfield, Mass.). She hit .462 and recorded seven kills on the heels of 18 kills in the semifinals. Freshman setter Laura Smolinski (Hebron, Conn.) recorded a match best 42 assists and earned a nod to the All-Tournament team. Junior Ally Le-Bruno, who also was named to the All-Tournament team had 11 digs and surpassed 2000 for her career. Junior Emilee McBride (Strafford, N.H.) hit .533 and had 10 kills, while junior Courtney O'Hara (Mystic, Conn.) had 12 kills. Sophomore Stephanie Vecchio (Shelter Island, N.Y.) hit .438 and had nine kills.
Maine Maritime was led by junior Ariel Knights (Brookton, Maine.). She recorded a team-high five kills. Senior setter Jennifer Dixon (Woodstock, Md.) collected 10 assists and was recognized on the All-Tournament team. Sophomore Sydney Robertson (Barnstead, N.H.) had three kills and a team-high two aces. Robertson also was named All-Tournament team.
