Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin College knocked off Maine Maritime Academy 84-51 in a non-conference men's basketball game Saturday afternoon. The Polar Bears improved to 3-2 while the Mariners remained winless at 0-4.
Bowdoin's Andrew Madlinger led all players with 17 points, including 3 of 6 from beyond the arc while Bryan Hurley scored 11 points with 12 assists, tied for the 10th-most in a single game in program history. Maximilian Staiger also saw double figures with 12 points while Matt Palecki pitched in 11 off the bench for the Polar Bears.
Paul Campbell led the Mariners with 14 points while Andy Ball added 13 points and seven rebounds.
Bowdoin opened the game shooting 58% from the field and used a 19-4 scoring run to take a 44-25 halftime lead.
The Polar Bears finished the game shooting 55% and held a 39-20 advantage in rebounds.
The Mariners open conference play Tuesday hosting Husson at 7:30 p.m.
