CASTINE, Maine – Melissa Lail (Elizabeth, Colo.) recorded 14 kills, two aces and 12 digs to lead Maine Maritime to a 3-0 win over Maine-Machias. Set scores were 25-14, 25-14, 25-23. The Mariners drew even to 3-3 on the season, while Machias slipped to 4-2.

Lail was steady throughout the night, piling up six of her kills in the second game. Jennifer Dixon (Woodstock, Md.) fueled the offense with 21 assists and recorded three aces. Sydney Robertson (Barnstead, N.H.) posted seven kills, while Betsy Trenckmann (La Veta, Colo.) came up with six. Heather Leonard led the Clippers with seven kills and five digs.

 Maine Maritime returns to action this weekend at Mass. Maritime for the Third Annual Mariner Classic.
