Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Maine Maritime fell to Bowdoin 80-43 in a non-conference women's basketball game Tuesday. The Polar Bears improved to 9-8 and the Mariners dropped to 7-9.
Maine Maritime was led by nine points and seven rebounds from Leah Jackson. Mary Badeen and Bekah Campbell had eight points each.
Kaitlin Donahoe had a team-high 18 points, including four three-pointers, for Bowdoin and Sara Binkhorst pitched in 11 points.
Bowdoin never trailed, jumping to a 31-9 lead, and connected on eight first-half three pointers to take a commanding 42-20 lead at halftime. The Polar Bears shot 50.8% for the game and held the Mariners to 30% from the field. Bowdoin owned a 42-29 edge on the boards, scoring 18 second-chance points on 18 offensive rebounds and netting 30 points off 18 MMA turnovers.
Maine Maritime returns to action at Husson on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in North Atlantic Conference game.
