WATERVILLE, Maine -- Maine Maritime women's cross country team finished third at the Colby Invitational Saturday. Freshman Jessica Faltings highlighted the Mariners with a 19th place finish.
Faltings finished the five-kilometer course in 22:59. She was a few minutes off the leader Chrissy Larrabee, of Husson, who led the 51-person field with 20:14.
Colby won the meet with three runners in the top ten. Husson was second and Thomas finished fourth.
Emily Fanning placed 31st in 25:24, Caroline Martin (26:16) came in 35th, Catherine Bailey was 42nd in 28:54 and Gabrielle Wells finished 46th in 29:42.
The Mariners return to action Saturday, back at Colby, in the State of Maine Championship.
