Henniker, N.H. -- Maine Maritime finished eighth out of nine teams at the Mayflower Kickoff hosted by New England College Friday afternoon.

Jessica Faltings finished 30th in the field of 121 runners, crossing at 22:22 to pace the Mariners. Emily Fanning (23:25) was 46th while Caroline Martin (26:55), Alice Stenquist (28:17), Catherine Bailey (29:29) and Ashley Marcellino (30:59) each scored for Maine Maritime.

Salve Regina  took four of the first ten finishes capturing first place in the team race. The Seahawks were followed by Husson University in second and fellow North Atlantic Conference (NAC) school, Colby-Sawyer, in third. 

Salve Regina's Amy Irving finished the 5K race in 19:28. Seahawk teammate Victoria Varone crossed in 19:32 for second place, while Babson's Marina Capalbo finished third in 19:49. 

Maine Maritime returns to action next Saturday at Husson University.
