Portland, Maine -- Maine Maritime finished 18th at the Southern Maine Invitational Saturday in a field of 19 teams.
Jessica Faltings was the top finisher for the Mariners, running the 5K course in 20:41.07, to finish 119 in a field of 243. Roger Williams' Hannah Zydanowixz won the individual title with 18:10.72.
Emily Fanning finished in 22:59.18 to break the 25 minute mark. Catherine Bailey crossed in 27:04.23, Alice Stenquist in 27:07.60, Elin Sonesson in 27:16.10, Gabrielle Wells in 28:48:51 and Caroline Martin in 28:49.32.
MIT won the team event with five runners in the top 20. Tufts placed second followed by Bates, Colby and Connecticut College in the top five.
The Mariners return to action Saturday at the Bowdoin College Invitational.
