Saturday's Game: Maine Maritime Academy (3-3, NEFC 2-2) at Salve Regina University (3-4, 2-2) 12:00 PM. 

Series History: The Mariners are 0-7 all-time against the Seahawks.

Last Meeting: Last season the Mariners fell to the Seahawks 42-8 on November 2, 2013.

Billy Wetherbee carried 27 times for 127 yards for Maine Maritime and Michael Fahey (Union, Conn.) added 43 yards on 14 carries. Joshua Doolan (Fairfield, Maine) caught three passes for 44 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown.

Dan Buonocore rushed for a game-high 136 yards for Salve Regina, Steven Wilken was 21 of 31 for 347 yards and Alex Hule (9 catches-109 yards) and Matthew Traynor (7-146) caught most of Wilken's passes to pace the Seahawks offense.

Frank True picked up a game-high 12 tackles for Maine Maritime, with a pair of sacks. Joshua Doyon and Michael Cummings each finished with nine tackles. 

Danny Ives led Salve Regina's defense with 11 tackles. Joshua Burnett tallied eight and Troy Smith finished with seven.

Maine Maritime Last Week: Maine Maritime freshman running back Jacob Doolan (Fairfield, Maine) amassed 206 yards on the ground and scored three times on 12 carries for an average of 17.2 yards per rush. Doolan added two catches for a total of 63 yards, and a touchdown to lead the Mariners to a 62-43 NEFC victory over Nichols College in week eight. 

The Mariners (3-3, 2-2 NEFC) finished the afternoon with 604 yards of total offense (459 rush, 145 pass) and scored touchdowns on nine of their first 12 possessions. Junior linebacker John Doyon (Hampden, Maine) led the Mariners with 19 tackles (13 solo) and the Mariner defense pressured Nichols quarterback Bryan Hummel into four turnovers (three interceptions, one fumble).

Salve Regina Last Week: The Seahawks are coming off their bye week, the week before that they defeated Curry College 49-6. 

The Mariners: Freshman running back Jacob Doolan leads the team with 853 rushing yards this season on 84 carries and seven touchdowns. Doolan is also the leading receiver with six catches for 209 yards and four touchdowns.

Quarterback Michael Fahey has thrown for 376 yards this season, including two passing touchdowns. Fahey has also rushed for 696 yards, scoring six rushing touchdowns. 

John Doyon leads the Mariner defense with 54 total tackles. Thomas Kinton (York, Maine) has 45 total tackles, five broken up passes and four interceptions, while Johnny Weymouth has 44 total tackles, and five broken up passes. Michael Burgess (North Yarmouth, Maine) leads the defense with two forced fumbles, and 6.5 sacks on the year.

The Seahawks: Quarterback Steven Wilken leads the Seahawks with his 1728 passing yards on 147 completions, and 21 touchdowns. Alex Hulme and Matthew Traynor have eight touchdown catches this season, to lead the receivers. Dan Buonocore has 746 rushing yards on 125 carries and two touchdowns to lead Salve Regina's running backs.

Danny Ives has 54 total tackles to the lead the defense. Ives also has three sacks, and an interception.


NEFC Honors:
Jacob Doolan and John Doyon were named in the weekly New England Football Conference awards following the victory over Nichols in week eight.

Doolan was named the NEFC Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Doyon was named the NEFC Defensive Player of the Week

ECAC Honors: Following his NEFC honor, Jacob Doolan was also named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week

Iowa Following: Maine Maritime Academy's victory over Nichols College in week eight was featured in The Gazette, a newspaper based out of Iowa.

High Score: The Mariners scored 62 points against Nichols College last week, the last time the Mariners scored that many points came in 2013 against the Bison, when Maine Maritime picked up the 63-52 victory.

Doyon Tackles Record: John Doyon recorded 19 tackles against Nichols College (13 solo), breaking the Maine Maritime Academy single game record for most tackles. Thomas Kinton previously held the record when he grabbed 18 total tackles (9 solo) against Western New England in 2013.

NCAA Leaders: After rushing for 459 yards against Nichols College in week eight, Maine Maritime Academy leads all divisions in rushing with 411.7 rushing yards per game.

NCAA DIII: Jacob Doolan ranks 18th in the nation among D3 running backs with 853 total rushing yards. Doolan also ranks 10th in the nation in rushing yards per game, with 142.2 yards.

Doyon's 19 tackles last week rank him 16th in the nation among DIII players for tackles in a single game.
