Box Score CASTINE, Maine – Women's soccer fell to the University of Fork Kent 1-0 on a rainy Thursday afternoon at Ritchie Field.
The Bengals attempted nine shots in the first half, finding the back of the net in the 10th minute when Katherine Ferland bet Mariner goalie Kelsie Hilton.
Enduring periods of pouring rain the two teams fought tough through the conditions. Maine Maritime garnered a corner kick opportunity in the 77th minute, and pressured the Bengals persistently; Mariner Emily Wyman shot a ball just wide of the net, in the 80th minute.
Hilton finished the afternoon with seven saves for the Mariners.
The Mariners fall to 2-3 on the season, while the Bengals improve to 4-1 overall. Maine Maritime will return to action on September 20th when they start North Atlantic Conference play and host New England College.
