Box Score LEWISTON, Maine – Women's soccer fell to NESCAC opponent Bates College on Wednesday night, 4-0.
Julia Rosen opened the scoring for the hosts in the 28th minute as she controlled a square ball from junior Maggie Coco and slipped a shot past Maine Maritime goalkeeper, Kelsie Hilton (Monmouth, Maine).
Bates (5-2) doubled its advantage in the 37th minute as Leah Humes redirected a cross from Dakota Dononvan to the turf and into the back of the net.
Donovan grabbed a goal just 30 seconds into the second half as she gathered a pass from Rosen and placed a shot inside the right post.
Ana Urbina concluded the game's scoring in the 75th minute as she moved from the left side of the pitch towards the center, and shot from just outside the penalty area and into the goal.
Emily Wyman (Brockton, Mass.) led the team with two shots on goal, while Hilton ended the night with 11 saves.
Maine Maritime (2-5, 0-1) will travel to Vermont this weekend to resume North Atlantic Conference play. They will play Johnson State on Saturday and Lyndon State on Sunday.
