Late Game Goal Lifts Huskies Past Mariners

WATERVILLE, Maine  -- Women's soccer fell 1-0 to non-conference opponent the University of Southern Maine on Saturday afternoon in the final day of the Terrier Soccer Classic. 

In a hard fought battle the Mariners held the Huskies scoreless for nearly 84 minutes, until CC Pelletier found the back of the net on a ball played by teammate Analies Ross-Dyjak.

The Huskies shot seven times, three on goal, while taking six corner kicks. The Mariners took three shots, two on goal, and had four corner kick opportunities.

Briana Obshatkin and Kylie Bradley logged shots on goal for the Mariners. 

USM keeper Marissa Temple recorded two saves in the victory, while Mariner goalie Kelsie Hilton stopped two shots in the loss. 

Maine Maritime falls to 2-2 on the season, and will host the University of Maine at Fort Kent this Thursday, September 11th at 4:00 PM.
