STANDISH, Maine – Zachary Kinsman (Lebanon, N.H.) placed 9th overall to lead the Mariners to a sixth place finish out of 13 teams at the Runnin' Monks Invitational hosted by Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday.
Kinsman completed the 8k course in 29:16.0 to pace the Mariners, in the 123 runner field. Chase Hughes (Yarmouth, Maine) was the next finisher for the Mariners in 13th with a time of 30 minutes, and Spencer Boonstra (Amston, Conn.) placed 27th with a time of 30:50.
Victor Skorapa (Freeport, Maine) placed 44th followed by Paul Ferreira (Castine, Maine) in 48th to round out the top-five finishers for the Mariners.
Maine-Farmington claimed the team victory and UMF's Robert Hollis ran a 27:33.8 to win the race.
The Mariners return to action next Saturday, October 17th at the State of Maine Championship hosted by Bowdoin College.
