Box Score CASTINE, Maine – Makayla Lewis (Purcellville, Va.) grabbed two goals to lead Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer past Lyndon State on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference play at Ritchie Field.
The Mariners got on the board in 9th minute when Lewis found the back of the net past Hornet keeper, Johanna Sargent.
Briana Obshatkin (Dedham, Mass.) doubled the Mariner lead with a goal on a pass from Miranda McIntire (Alna, Maine) in the 15th minute.
Lewis headed in her second goal of the game, and fourth of the season in the 40th minute on a deflect shot.
The Mariners grabbed a goal in the 51st minute to claim the conference win, outshooting the Hornets 16-3 and took eight corner kicks to Lyndon's three.
Maggie McConkey (Fryeburg, Maine) stopped all three shots she faced in the shutout, while Sargent recorded 12 saves.
The Mariners return to action tomorrow, Sunday, October 4th when they host NAC opponent Johnson State at 1:00 p.m. on Ritchie Field.
