WATERFORD, Conn. – Junior Jessica Faltings (Northport, N.Y.) led Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country to a 50th place finish out of 56 competing teams at the NCAA Division III Regional Championship on Saturday.
Competing against 15 nationally ranked teams, Faltings, led the Mariners to their best finish at the the NCAA Regionals Championship in the last five seasons. Faltings placed 238th out of 390 runners with a time of 25:48 on the 6K course. Nerissa Larrabee (Cairbou, Maine) placed 312th with a time of 27:18, followed closely by Julia Dillon (Norway, Maine) in 314th and Robyn Larrabee (Caribou, Maine) in 317th. Mary Shea (Brownfield, Maine) rounded out the top five finishers for the Mariners with a 331st place finish and a time of 27:50.
Williams College claimed the overall time victory with three runners in the top 10, and MIT's Maryann Gong took the individual victory with the top time of 21:36.
