Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine – Jillian Perron (Skowhegan, Maine) scored a career-high 21 points to lead the Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball team to a 74-44 victory over Thomas College on Wednesday night.
The Mariners jumped out to a 10-2 lead following a Kristi Willey (Topsham, Maine) 3-pointer, with 10:22 remaining in the first half. Maine Maritime scored 12-unanswered points to close out the half with a 33-13 lead.
The Mariners controlled the second half, leading by as much as 36 points with 1:34 remaining in the game, to claim the North Atlantic Conference victory.
Perron added seven rebounds, three steals and two assists, while Willey ended the evening with 20 points, including 4-5 from beyond the three-point arc, a team-best eight rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block. Alex Winchester (Hampden, Maine) contributed nine points, three assists, and two rebounds.
Katie McAllister grabbed a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, while Ashleigh Gagne also added 14 points for the Terriers.
Maine Maritime improves to 11-13 overall and 8-9 in the conference, while Thomas falls to 3-21 on the season and 2-15 in the NAC.
The Mariners return to Smith Gymnasium this Saturday to take on Maine-Farmington at 3:00 p.m.
