MACHIAS, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy volleyball picked up a 3-0 (25-9, 25-10, 25-16) season opening win over Maine-Machias on Tuesday night.

Tess Clark (Spring, Texas) led the way for the Mariners with 10 kills, five service aces and five digs, while Gillian O'Neal (Burbank, Calif.) had 10 kills and two digs. Alex McClure (Iron Station, N.C.) recorded four kills, three service aces and two digs, and Melissa Spaulding (Fairbanks, Alaska) added 26 assists on the night.

Maine Maritime now holds a 21-4 all-time record over the Clippers.

The Mariners (1-0) will host Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Wednesday night inside of Smith Gymnasium at 6:30 PM.
