HENNIKER, N.H. – Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country placed 3^rd out of six teams on Sunday at the 5^th Annual Mayflower Kickoff Event hosted by New England College.

Freshman Nerissa Larrabee (Caribou, Maine) finished 9^th out of 64 runners to lead the Mariners on the 5k course with a time of 21:41. Julia Dillon (South Paris, Maine) finished 17^th with a time of 22:49, followed closely by Robyn Larrabee (Caribou, Maine) in 18^th with a time of 22:51. Sierra James (Campton, N.H.) placed 21^st, and Mary Shea (Brownfield, Maine) finished 30^th to round out the top five finishers for the Mariners.

New England College's Abby Shafer grabbed the victory with a time of 18:59. Colby-Sawyer grabbed the overall team victory with two runners in the top three, and Fitchburg State finished second.

The Mariners return to action next Saturday, September 19^th at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
