NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country placed seventh at the State of Maine Intercollegiate Championships on Saturday afternoon.

Spencer Boonstra (Amston, Conn.) placed 64th overall and fifth among North Atlantic Conference runners, to lead the Mariners, with a time of 28:51. Josh Richards (Westbrook, Maine) was the next finisher for the Mariners placing 72nd overall, followed by Chase Hughes (Westport Island, Maine) in 73rd, Victor Skorapa (Freeport, Maine) in 83rd and John Ramsey (Houlton, Maine) in 91st.

Colby College claimed the team victory, followed by Bates College and Bowdoin College. Bates' James Jones was the top finisher, completing the 8K course in 25:17.

The Mariners return to action in two weeks at the North Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Johnson State College on Saturday, October 29.
