Box Score CASTLETON, Vt. – Maine Maritime Academy volleyball sailed to 3-0 victories over Green Mountain College and Castleton University on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference action.
Maine Maritime 3 – Green Mountain 0 (25-8, 25-9, 25-9)
Tess Clark (Spring, Texas) and Alexa Cacacie (Manahawkin, N.J.) led the Mariners with four kills each, while Clark also led the Mariners with six digs. Sydney Adams (Trumbull, Conn.) tallied a match-high 10 assists, while also leading all players with a season-high seven aces.
Taylor Hill led the Eagles with two kills and Torie Cowell tallied a team-high five dig.
Maine Maritime 3 – Castleton 0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-12)
Gillian O'Neal (Burbank, Calif.) and Tess Clark tallied 11 kills each to lead the Mariners. Clark also added a match-high six aces. O'Neal, Sydney Adams, and Hannah Butland(Cumberland, Maine) had four aces each. Maria Perez (San Juan, Puerto Rico) led all players with seven digs. Melissa Spaulding (Fairbanks, Alaska) tallied a match-high 18 assists.
J'Leen Diaz led the Spartans with five kills and four digs, Alex Madsen tallied a team-high eight assists and Kimberly Jackson recorded three aces for Castleton.
The Mariners improve to 16-6 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the NAC, and will return to action on Tuesday, October 18 at Bates College for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference match.
