SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer fell to Springfield College on Sunday afternoon, 1-0, in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Region 1 Championship game.

Gabrielle Fernandes scored an unassisted goal in the 38th minute, to give the Pride the 1-0 advantage and the eventual win.

Maine Maritime's goalkeeper Maggie McConkey (Fryeburg, Maine) tallied six stops in net, while Springfield's goalie Ciara Boucher did not register a save in the victory.

With the loss, the Mariners conclude their season with a 10-7-2 overall record, while Springfield College improves to 13-5-3 overall, and will advance to the ECAC Division III Women's Soccer Championship Semifinals on November 19-20.
