Box Score PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball cruised to a 96-46 victory over UMaine-Presque Isle on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
The Mariners jumped out to a 15-8 lead in the first quarter, and shot 48.4 percent from the floor en route to the victory.
Alayne Felix (Mahopac, N.Y.) led all players with 18 points, five rebounds, two steals, and a block, Caitlin Kane (Wilton, Maine) added 15 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals, and Eryn Doiron (Wilton, Maine) tallied 13 points, three rebounds, and an assist. Chloe Smedley (York, Maine) rounded out the Mariners in double-digits with 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and a block. Melinda Ogden (Searsport, Maine) tallied a game-high six assists to go with nine points, while Mikayla Charters (Newport, Maine) led all players with six rebounds while also tallying eight points.
Emilia Churchill led the Owls with 10 points, three rebounds, and two assists and both Amanda Hotham and Rhylee Wright added seven points.
The Mariners improve to 4-1 overall, while the Owls fall to 0-5. Maine Maritime Academy returns to action on Tuesday night when they host Husson at 7:30 pm, inside of Smith Gym.
