Box Score CASTINE, Maine -- Senior Bekah Campbell (Corinth, Maine) scored a game-high and season-high 16 points to lead Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball to a dominating 78-42 North Atlantic Conference victory over Maine-Farmington on Senior Night, inside of Smith Gymnasium on Wednesday night.
The Mariners scored four-straight points to close out the first quarter with a 15-8 lead and never looked back. Maine Maritime shot 53.7 percent from the floor in the victory and an impressive 53.3 percent from beyond the arc, while the Beavers shot 29.1 percent from the floor and 20 percent from three-point land. The Mariners also won the battle of the boards, with 37 rebounds compared to Maine-Farmington's 28.
Campbell pulled down five rebounds, dished out two helpers and added two blocks to her all-time career leading record, while senior Mackenzie Vosburgh (Rhinebeck, N.Y.) added 14 points, on six-of-eight shooting, four rebounds, two assists and a block. Megan McLean (Eliot, Maine) added 11 points, five rebounds, two steals and an assist, and senior Maggie McConkey (Fryeburg, Maine) and Alayne Felix (Mahopac, N.Y.) added 10 points each.
Senior Meghan Smith led the Beavers with 12 points, eight rebounds, two steals and two assists, and senior Elizabeth Ferry added 11 points, six rebounds and a block.
The Mariners improve to 16-8 overall land 12-5 in the NAC, while the Beavers fall to 11-13 on the season and 9-8 in the conference. Maine Maritime closes out regular season play on the road against Thomas College on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
Prior to the game, the Mariners honored their senior players; Campbell, McConkey and Vosburgh and senior manager Cortney Treadwell.
