BRUNSWICK, Maine – Senior Spencer Boonstra (Amston, Conn.) led Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country to a sixth place finish at the Bowdoin Invitational II on Saturday afternoon. The Mariners recorded a team score of 186 on the day.

Boonstra placed 32nd among the 90 finishers on the 8k course with a time of 28:50.6. Josh Richards (Westbrook, Maine) was the next finisher for the Mariners, placing 41st, Victor Skorapa (Freeport, Maine) placed 45th and Chase Hughes (Westport Island, Maine) finished 51st. Paul Ferreira (Castine, Maine) and Keenan Martin (Dixfield, Maine) finished back-to-back in 70th and 71st.

Bowdoin College claimed the team victory, placing five runners in the top seven and Wentworth Institute of Technology's Daniel McSolla took the top place with a time of 25:43.2,

Maine Maritime returns to action next Saturday, October 1 at the Colby Invitational.
