Box Score CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer cruised to a 6-0 victory over UMaine-Presque Isle on Sunday afternoon at Ritchie Field.
Prior to the game, the Mariners honored the team's three seniors; Kylie Bradley (Westborough, Mass.), Eleanor Carr (Bucksport, Maine), and Emily Wyman (Brockton, Mass.).
Eryn Doiron (Wilton, Maine) put the Mariners on the board in the third minute and Wyman added her fourth goal of the season in the 31st minute.
The Mariners earned another goal when Makayla Lewis (Purcellville, Va.) bounced a corner kick off an Owl defender. Lewis added a goal of her own in the 44th minute, to make it 4-0.
Ashley Porter (Cutler, Maine) picked up her second goal of the season in the 77th minute and just a few seconds later Doiron added her second goal of the game to cap off the scoring and secure the 6-0 victory for the Mariners.
Maine Maritime's Emily Conway (Charleston, S.C.) tallied two saves in the victory, while UMPI's Allie Lopez stopped 10 shots in the loss.
Maine Maritime improves to 5-9 overall, while the Owls fall to 1-7 on the season. The Mariners return to action on Tuesday at UMaine-Farmington for a 12:3 pm North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup.
