POULTNEY, Vt. – Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country placed fifth at Saturday's Green Mountain Invitational.
Keenan Martin (Dixfield, Maine) led the Mariners with a his 23rd place finish out of 64 runners, completing the 8K course with a time of 31:09. Alex Wicks (Woolwich, Maine) and Steven Gerencer (Bowdoin, Maine) finished back-to-back in 29th and 30th place respectively. Hunter Giacomuzzi (Sebec, Maine) placed 38th with a time of 34:58 and John Brigante (Woodbine, Md.) rounded out the top five finishers for Maine Maritime in 40th place.
Saint Joseph's College of Maine claimed the team victory, placing three runners in the top five, while Castleton University finished second. SUNY Cobleskill's Dillon VanDemortel was the top finisher, completing the course in 25:51.
The Mariners return to action on Friday, October 19 at the Thomas College Invitational.
