Volleyball Downs Husson

BANGOR, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy volleyball defeated Husson University, 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-21) on Wednesday night in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action inside of Newman Gymnasium.

With the win the Mariners improve to 17-3 overall and 3-0 in the NAC, while Husson falls to 4-22 on the season and 0-3 in the conference. Maine Maritime returns to action this Saturday, October 26 when they host NVU-Lyndon at 10:00 am and NVU-at approximately 4:00 pm for Senior Day.

Jessica D'Auria (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) led the Mariners with a match-high eight kills, and also added seven digs, Rachel Melampy (Marshfield, Mass.) and Alexa Cacacie (Manahawkin, N.J.) chipped in with six kills each, while Melampy added four digs and an ace and Cacacie contributed five aces, three blocks and an a dig. Avery O'Neal (Burbank, Calif.) led all players with 13 digs, and recorded four kills, three aces and two assists, and Sydney Adams (Trumbull, Conn.) tallied a match-best 28 assists to go with five digs, three kills, and two blocks.

Sophia Pagliarini led the Eagles with three kills, two blocks and a dig, Cat Torres had a team-high eight digs and Hanna Hembrow tallied nine assists.
